Aurich lies in the heart of East Frisia. Its sandy heathlands, marshes and bogs offer a great backdrop for cycle and hiking tours. The Hostel is located on the southern outskirts of town, right next to the municipal sports facility known as "Ellernfeld". The town centre is about 10 minutes away on foot.

The Hostel has 111 beds in 25 rooms with between 4 and 6 beds each as well as 4 twin rooms (rooms for group leaders) with en-suite shower/WC. 2 wheelchair-accessible rooms, 5 group rooms and large function room with parquet flooring. The adjoining sports facility boasts 2 sports grounds, tennis courts, a playing/football field, an indoor pool and lots more sports activities.
